Schedule MotoGP 2009

A race in Hungary has replaced the Chinese Grand Prix on the provisional schedule for the 2009 MotoGP season. If the Balatonring circuit is built in time and meets the necessary standard, it could stage the 14th round of the 18-race series in September 2009. As such, the Chinese Grand Prix, held at the Shanghai International Circuit, has been removed after hosting just four races since 2005.

It means MotoGP retains an 18 race calendar, with the season kicking off at the Losail circuit in Qatar with what will be another night race after the success of this year's event. However, while this year's season started in early March, the first round will be taking place in April this time.
