The women’s team from the Republic of Korea (ROK) preceded the Chinese to win the Archery Women's Team gold medal match on Sunday, August 10. The Team of the Republic of Korea comprised Park Sung-Hyun, Yun Ok-Hee and Joo Hyun-Jung. The ROK team scored 224 out of a possible 240 points.
The silver went to the Chinese team comprising Zhang Juanjuan, Chen Ling and Guo Dan who scored 215 points. The French team of Virginie Arnold, Sophie Dodemont and Berengere Schuh took third place with 202 points.Three South Korean men finished off a sweep of the Olympic archery team events Monday with a narrow victory over Italy in the gold medal match.
It was the third consecutive Olympic triumph for South Korea in the men's team competition. The South Korean women have won the team gold all six times the event has been contested in the Games.
South Korea's men's team was made up of Im Dong-hyun, Lee Chang-hwan and Park Kyung-mo. Im and Park were members of the winning team in Athens.
In the battle for the gold, South Korea edged the Italian trio of Ilario Di Buo', Marco Galiazzo and Mauro Nespoli 227-225.
China captured the bronze by defeating Ukraine 222-219.
The American team didn't make it out of the first round, losing to Taiwan 222-218.
Individual archery gold medals will be awarded later this week with the South Koreans expected to win both the men's and women's events.
